What a GREAT great aunt and fascinating story about her life and times. Great description of the working conditions for women and children in the garment industry back then. Family history you can take pride in....union pride!

I wish so much that the accomplishments of women were better documented throughout history. These "tiny things" - 8 hour work days, lights and HVAC, are very statue-worthy actions to me.

Agreed! Major accomplishments by so many unsung heroines from this era. I'm so glad to learn about the role she played in making labor conditions better and wrote about it.
